ONE DAY HUNGER STRIKE DONE @ Chennai regarding "EQUAL PAY FOR EQUAL WORK" !! Only one demand to draw the attention of government regarding *EQUAL PAY for EQUAL WORK*.
For the past 22 years that is till the amendment of 6th pay commission in tamilnadu government, all the teachers received central government equal pay. But at the 6th pay commission central government equal pay for state government secondary grade teacher was neglected. But most of the government employees received central government equal pay.
Secondary grade teachers those who appointed before 1.06.2009 received basic pay 8370&Grade pay 2800. And after 1.6.2009, appointed trs received BP5200, Gp 2800. In basic pay itself Rs.3170 was deficit. Eventhough central govt doesnt fix any cutoff date our tamilnadu govt fixed. For the persons working in grade pay 2800 in central govt, they got Bp 8370. Even though *Equal work, equal designation, equal qualification*, two types of Bp was received by the TamilNadu secondary grade TRS. As per the Indian constitutional law, fundamental rights &supreme court judgement, *"EQUAL PAY for EQUAL WORK"* was highly imposed. In Tamilnadu, as per RTE act, TET exam was conducted and selected highly qualified trs. But the highly qualified trs does not received qualified salary.
In this occasion, if 7țh pay commission is implemented, there is vast difference in the sec gr teacher's salary. Those who appointed after 2009, sec gr trs should not entered the entry level pay itself.
Now the 7th pay commission committee was constituted. To eradicate our salary problems, we draw the attention of state govt and the pay commission committe. We made the one day *HUNGER STRIKE* at valuvar kottam on 23.04.17.
More then 2000 trs were attended today's hunger strike protest to eradicate the salary problem of only one demand, *"EQUAL PAY FOR EQUAL WORK"
